Lunch and Learn Topic:

We have all seen or heard the sensationalized headlines about Initial Coin Offerings, or ICOs. But what exactly are these events? Will they really disrupt venture capital as a means to fund development? Are they a sign of an economic bubble, or is there something truly worth considering under the surface? Learn about ICOs from Mark Koeppen, Principal in Strategy & Operations at Deloitte Consulting LLP.

Box lunch will be served at this event.

Mark Koeppen's Background:

Mark is a Principal in Deloitte Consulting’s Strategy & Operations Practice where he supports Oil and Gas Clients with finance transformation initiatives. Mark has over 15 years of experience focused in finance process improvement and technology implementations in support of Finance, Accounting, Land Management and Capital Projects organizations.

Mark currently leads the U.S. O&G Blockchain Practice for Deloitte Consulting. In this role, Mark helps oil and gas companies solve their most complex challenges with the disruptive technology, while also overseeing the investment Deloitte Consulting is making in its O&G digital finance practice.

Prior to joining Deloitte, Mark was a Finance Analyst for Shell Oil Company. He supported the refining businesses in major capital project analysis and financial close processes in a gulf coast refinery. Mark holds a Bachelors degree in Economics from Texas Tech University and Masters of Business Administration from Webster University.

Directions & Parking:
The Liu Idea Lab is in the new Cambridge Building, which is behind the Allen Center and across from Lovett Hall. We suggest you enter Rice University through entrance #3 off of Main Street, onto Cambridge. The building is the first building on your right. Take a right at the first stop sign (as soon as you turn into campus), and follow the road around to the parking garage. The Liu Idea Lab is on the first floor in the building attached to the garage. Go through the lobby and we are at the back of the building.
