Abe kicked off his career in Silicon Valley in 2005. Within a year, the team pivoted through photo and video sharing platforms and an instant chat tool. They all failed miserably, but he learned ton. He then made his own pivot, joining Samsung Mobile and eventually taking a senior position as head of the Field Marketing and Training Organization. Abe moved back to Houston in 2012 and joined Premium Retail Services as the VP of Strategic Accounts. He received his BA and MBA from Rice University.
Emma Fauss, PhD, MBA is the CEO and a co-founder of Medical Informatics Corp. (www.mic.healthcare). She has worked extensively in Healthcare analytics since 2010. Her work includes a partnership with Texas Children’s Hospital that has focused on improving clinical intelligence and predictive analytics for doctors and nurses. She has specialized in business strategy and building corporate partnerships. As a previous Rice Alliance and DFJ Mercury Venture Fellow, Dr. Fauss has been actively involved in strategy consulting with early-stage entrepreneurs in the Texas Medical Center as well as Rice University.
She serves on the Rice Entrepreneurs Organization (REO) board.
Wendy Nunnelley is an angel investor in more than 20 early-stage companies, primarily in consumer goods and services. She is also a former Vice President at The Coca-Cola Company and consultant at The Boston Consulting Group. Wendy looks for investments in companies with a strong, diverse team, a winning mission, and a significant market opportunity where she can leverage her big-company experience to help the founders succeed. She sits on the board of the Houston Angel Network, is a member of the Central Texas (Austin) Angel Network, advises several early-stage companies, and is a mentor for Village Capital, SKU, and Station Houston.
Krissa Puckett is Senior Vice President - Business and Private Banking Division at Green Bank.
Diana Murakhovskaya is a former Wall Street Exec with over 10 years of investment banking, sales and trading experience. During her first entrepreneurial journey, building an app to connect women she and her partner Irene experienced firsthand the many challenges that founders face and as a result began creating programs for gender diverse companies to access funding and resources. They launched the Monarq incubator, NYC's first incubator dedicated to funding gender diverse founding teams, creating lasting relationships between investors and entrepreneurs and giving founders the resources they need to succeed. The Monarq Incubator will expand nationally for the second cohort with the goal of helping more women founders starting companies of the future to thrive.
Ian Hernandez is a 2011 Rice EMBA, entrepreneur and investor since 2015
when he founded Merkurios Group Holdings LLC. He is a technology, energy and transportation enthusiast. His space has been in enterprise resilience and international land/marine logistics. Ian is passionate about startups, new projects, getting things done, learning and mentoring. He has been active with TiE Houston, Station and he feels privileged to serve on the REO board.
